Child Abuse Coordinator:  Lynn Cooper

Alternate Child Abuse Coordinator:  Tim Bible 

 

Tenn. Code Ann. § 49-6-1601(c): each LEA and public charter school shall designate a child abuse coordinator and alternate child abuse coordinator for EACH school within the LEA or public charter school. 

           •A school’s child abuse coordinator and alternate child abuse coordinator must:
• Assist school employees in reporting suspected child abuse and sexual abuse to law enforcement AND to DCS;
• Serve as a liaison between the school, DCS, and law enforcement in child abuse and sexual abuse investigations;
• Assist law enforcement and DCS personnel by sharing available information regarding suspected child abuse and sexual abuse and by providing a private area in the school for law enforcement and DCS personnel to meet with the child and the reporting school employees as a group or individually if required; and
• Maintain confidential files in accordance with Tenn. Code Ann. § 37-5-107 and § 37-1-612 regarding all reported suspicions of child abuse and sexual abuse.
